Stormwater is a major contributor to the pollution and degradation of our streams in Mifflin County. Stormwater collects pollutants and contaminants while traveling across impervious surfaces on its way to streams and rivers. Stormwater also contributes excessive volumes to stream systems exacerbating flooding and flood damage. The MCCD helps to provide education to residents and landowners about storm water issues and solutions through workshops and trainings. Residents can greatly reduce their stormwater impacts through the installation of rain barrels, rain gardens, and from reducing impervious surfaces.
